Centralized Common Instrumentation Facility
The Centralised Common Instrumentation Facility (CCIF) is established to provide advanced analytical and characterization services to researchers within Kerala and beyond. Equipped with a comprehensive range of high-end, state-of-the-art instruments, CCIF serves as a centralized facility that supports multidisciplinary research and meets the analytical requirements of academic institutions, universities, research organizations, and industries engaged in high-end materials synthesis and characterization.
CCIF is fully funded by the Government of Kerala and was declared and inaugurated as a unit of the Kerala Network of Research Support in Higher Education (KNRSH), a Centre of Excellence scheme under the Kerala State Higher Education Council.
Housed within GCW—a century-old institution with a strong academic and public-service ethos—CCIF operates on the principles of centralisation, inclusivity, and optimal utilisation of public infrastructure. The facility services are open to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching laboratories, doctoral research, faculty-led projects, externally funded research programmes, and inter-institutional collaborations involving universities, autonomous colleges, and research laboratories.
